Chillin'...finally.

Red Rocks Amphitheater

Sarah and I just got back from a great vacation. It was only 4 days, 24 hours of which were spent in a car, and we packed it in. The first day we took off at 7am and arrived in Denver at 5pm. The drive to Denver isn't that bad because you gain an hour, but the drive home is horrible. Maybe it was because we were sleep deprived, maybe it was seeing the same ol' nothing once again...but the fact that we were getting in late and then we lose an hour coming East made it that much worse.

One of the first things we did was visit the Museum of Modern Art. There is just so much to see.  I loved it. They had another building with a lot of historical art and some very, very old artifacts from the Babylonian and Assyrian era in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan. It was a highlight for sure.

One of my favorite pieces at the Denver Museum of Modern Art.
So gangsta.

We got some killer food and beer at a vegan place with Kerri, George, David, Priscilla and Georgia. It was literally right across the way from K & G's place. After dinner we went to the first show, STS9 & Thievery Corp. It was spectacular and nothing short of perfect.  I am very glad I had my Flip cam to capture a few moments. The next day we went hiking up to a glacier with Dave and Teague. It was beautiful. The hike was short but tough nonetheless. We were feeling the altitude up there...huffin n' puffin every few steps. The view was worth it.

Georgia Bleu being cute!!!
The second night we went out for some great sushi. Another great recommendation from K & G. I got a nice bottle of sake, Kobe beef roll, and Korean style short ribs. Georgia loved the sushi and ribs...i had to keep giving her pieces of mine. That little girl is so cute and was making me laugh the whole time we were with her. This second night featured Ghostland Observatory as the opener for STS9. Again, it was such a solid show. The lasers that Ghostland had were really sweet on the Rocks. STS9's set this night was one of the best I have ever heard. It was so appropriate and was executed flawlessly.

STS9 live at Red Rocks

My favorite beer on this planet, Sunshine Wheat.
Brewed with orange rind and coriander. It just does it for me

Picked up this hot sauce at a truck stop in CO.
Very tasty...Habanero & Serrano peppers got a
smoky kick to it
New Belgium Brewery's India Pale Ale
Incredibly hoppy in a very good way. Tastes
like flowers with a bitter finish.
